QUAKE ADVICE_Seismic Design Response Spectrum Report

Determination of Seismic Design Response Spectrum Based on PEER Model

1. Input Parameters:

'PEER Model' requires information of the thickness, SPT-N, soil classification, soil description, water content, and soil age for soil layers in each Borehole.

I. Annual Probability of Exceedance and Probability Factor (kp):
II. Hazard Design Factor (Z) in term of 'g':
III. Initial Vertical Stress from Structure (kPa):
IV. Energy Ratio (N60/Nmeasured):
Note:
  1. If initial vertical stress from structure is unknown, it may be defined as 50 kPa (assumed from a 5 storey RC building).
  2. Energy ratio is the conversion factor for converting the measured N values to corrected N values corresponding to 60% energy efficiency. A value of 1 is suggested for the case of Australia (Sabatini et al., 2002).

Note: If water table is at the surface level, provide input value of 'Water Level' as 0. If there is no water table, provide any input value of 'Water Level' which is greater than the total depth of soil.
